McHenry (1987~1988 - 2008~2012)

1900 N Richmond Rd, McHenry, IL 60051

This is maybe the most remote Sears stores that I know of in Lake County, and in the plaza just south of it, there use to be a Sears Appliance Outlet. It has since become an American Freight store after they bought out all of the Sears Outlet stores. Also please note that the opening date is based upon the construction of the building, for I do not know for certain if Sears was the original tenant. The building looks as though it may have once been a Kmart, although that is merely speculation.

Niles (1960 - 2018)

Location: 400 Golf Mill Centre

This is one of the rare 1960's Sears stores still standing in the far out suburbs of Chicago.

Northbrook (1976 - 1983)

Location: 1555 Northbrook Court

The reason for this store's closure is due to Sears wanting to prioratize its Hawthorn Mall and Golf Mill Shopping Center locations.

Vernon Hills (1973 - 2017)

Location: 2 Hawthorn Center

The Sears store here was the last of the original anchor tenants of Hawthorn Mall.

Schaumburg (1973 - 2021)

Location: 2 Woodfield Mall

This was the last Sears store in the entire state of Illinois.
